How a Grain Elevator Works (Saskatchewan)

Watch an antique wood elevator that transports grain. The attached video shows exactly how the grain travels.

This is such an intricate system of trap doors, elevators, pulleys, etcetera. Very fun to learn about this farm elevator!

The Fastest Elevator in the World (Taipei 101 Express Elevator)

At its fastest, this Toshiba travels at 16.83 m/s (60.6 km/h) as it goes up. In 2004, it set a new record for being the fastest elevator.

It is so fast that you can travel from the 5th floor to an observatory on floor 89 in just 37 seconds! The elevator is equipped with an emergency braking systems, and the world’s first triple-stage anti-overshooting system!

AquaDom Aquarium Elevator (Berlin)

Today we are featuring a video of the AquaDom elevator in Berlin. This is a one-of-a-kind elevator that travels through a tunnel-shaped aquarium full of fish and other sea life. The elevator itself is transparent so the fish can be seen from all sides.

We’ve learned that the AquaDom was built in 2004, and cost about 12.8 million euros to build. A lot of its parts were especially built for the project, too.

Our First Post! An elevator at the MIT.

Welcome to The Society for Vertical Transportation! The video is by KONEelevatorman111, a true vertical transportation expert!!
